The lay leader serves as the primary representative of the laity in the church. Responsibilities of the lay leader include: fostering awareness of the role of laity and facilitating their participation in the goals of the church; serving as a liaison between laity, church committees, and staff; and generally seeking to further the church mission by connecting the church needs with the people who seek to serve.
