Infant-to-Youth Education Programs
At Church of the Good Shepherd, one of our goals is to provide consistent quality opportunities for Christian education at all age levels. We invite everyone, from first-time visitors to long-time members, to participate.
Most children's programming takes place during our Education Hour, Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. Other opportunities such as the Christmas program or special music also come up throughout the year. Listen to announcements at the start of worship or check our calendar to keep informed on these.
During worship, all children are invited to participate in service. After the "Time for the Child in Us All", parents may take nursery through Kindergarten children to childcare for the remainder of worship.
Education Hour Programming
Infants and Toddlers are welcome to come and play in a loving, Christian environment in our Nursery. It is staffed by a paid adult and volunteers.
Children ages 2-3 years old and Pre-K are encouraged to explore God’s world through hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities.
Kindergarten through 5th grade children encounter God’s Word and reflect on how the Bible matters in their lives using the BibleZone Live curriculum, which engages children with fun, cooperative games, group activities, and storytelling that involve children in both the telling and the listening.
Grades 6 and up are folloring last year's study of the Old Testament with a survey of the New Testament using the We Believe curriculum. This study of the New Testament helps the participants make connections and see the whole picture through a sequential, systematic approach. This group also meets for monthly opportunities for fellowship and service.
